Are you interested in the possibility of a public Montessori middle and high school in Denver? If so, please consider coming to voice your support before the Denver Board of Education during a special public comment session on Thursday, June 14 at 5 p.m.

Dear Gilpin Parents,
As the end of the school year approaches, I want to remind you of our End-of-Year Barbecue on Thursday, May 24th from after school until 5:30 p.m. or whenever the food runs out. Every year we have a great turnout. It is a good time to meet a few other parents, talk with the staff and watch me grill the burgers and hot dogs.
If you would like to donate to our non-profit organization, Friends of Gilpin, the barbecue would be a good time to do so. We do not charge anyone for the food at the barbecue, but funding for this event will run out after the next school year. Let’s make sure we can keep this event going from now on.
I attended a Curtis Park neighborhood meeting. This organization is very supportive of our school, our turnaround, and our neighborhood activities. It was great to see so many strong supporters of the work we do at Gilpin.
I want to thank each of you that has participated, volunteered, and supported Gilpin Montessori Public School this year. We are a better school because of your help, and because of your support for the wonderful Montessori teaching that goes on in each of our classrooms each day. Have a great summer.

Kaleidoscope registration for the 2012-13 school year!

Gilpin families: Registration for after-school care with Kaleidoscope Corner for the 2012-13 school year will take place Thursday, May 10. Families currently participating in Kaleidoscope can register between 4 – 6 p.m. and families who will be new to Kaleidoscope may register between 6 – 7 p.m. Registration will take place in Gilpin’s cafeteria, which is in the basement of the school building. New parent orientation on Thursday, May 10

Attention parents of new Gilpin students enrolling for the 2012-13 school year! We will be having an orientation for parents of incoming Gilpin students on Thursday, May 10 from 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Come learn about Gilpin’s policies and procedures (attendance, school supplies, potty training etc.), learn about our after-school childcare programs, find out about volunteer opportunities and more!
This will also be a good time to ask any questions you might have about Montessori. We hope you can join us!
