Desiree Romero

DebrieDesiree is a Colorado native. She has worked for DPS for 6 years teaching literacy to students in Kindergarten thru 5th grade. She attended the Community College of Denver in 2003 where she earned a Directors Certificate in Early Childhood Education. From there, she attended the University of Northern Colorado on the Lowry campus in the Urban Education Program. Her passion is to help all children succeed academically. Recently she decided to utilize this passion in a different way and became a Restorative Approach Coordinator; in this role she can teach children how to succeed in all aspects of life at their own pace with life changing strategies and guidance. She has attended trainings and conferences as well as researched children and their behaviors. The 2016-2017 school year will be her first year at Gilpin and in a Montessori school setting. She is very excited to work with wonderful, educated and supportive staff. During her free time, Desiree enjoys spending time with her daughter and family, watching her Denver Broncos, dancing, traveling, being outdoors, craft fairs and trying new foods.
